Orange artists explore life in isolation | Central Western Daily

Female-identifying artists from across the Central West have contributed to a new exhibition that focuses on time spent in isolation during COVID. The Peisley St Gallery is hosting the Self Portrait in Isolation show, which features the likes of Hannah Orrock, Eva Wolf, Aisleen Moxey, Larissa Blake, Sopee Soo and Maria Shaw. “I was discussing with one of the other artists, Hannah Orrock, [the idea] of putting on a group exhibition looking at whether artists had experienced time in isolation before, and how they used their time in isolation,” said Mrs Shaw. “We read about [Mexican painter] Frida Kahlo and her time in isolation and how she used that to generate work, so we thought that would be a good point to reflect on…
