Orange violent storm knocks out power to about 2000 homes, businesses | Central Western Daily

About 2000 properties across Orange lost power during a violent storm on Wednesday afternoon. Essential Energy initially reported 1724 homes and businesses stretching from the eastern side of the city to Lewis Pondswere without power from 4.19pm. A spokesman said it would be several hours before power could be restored. “Approximately 2000 customers in the Orange area are currently experiencing an unplanned power outage as a result of powerlines being brought down by storm activity on Ophir Road, Orange,” he said. “Essential Energy crews responded immediately and are currently working to isolate the fault and restore power. “We expect to have all customers back on supply by 9pm this evening.” A further 30 properties…
